I found myself back in India, this time Varanasi, the spiritual capital of India. If my first time in India was very Buddhist inspired, this time it was all about Hinduism. I got two very different experiences of India. Varanasi was an interesting sight to see, with all that life that was going on around the holy river of Ganges. I think it’s a must see in India because it really gives you a lot to experience and think about.
Pilgrimes on Ganges
Faces of India
A train took us from Varanasi to Khajuraho which is famous for its temples with erotic sculptures on them. Khajuraho was tough for me because of the people there that were constantly harassing us and tried to cheat us in every possible way. I liked the temples and the cycling we did in the countryside but i really didn’t like all those people that saw as an opportunity to get money. So i wasn’t a bit sad when we left Khajuraho and headed on to Udaipur.
Temple in Khajuraho
We took the train again and the moment we arrived to Udaipur i knew it was different. I could just feel the more relaxed and nice atmosphere of the city and i loved it immediately. Udaipur has this lovely and peaceful lake and nice people that aren’t agressive at all. It was a really good choice to relax our minds a little bit before we continued our way to another crazy city, Pushkar.
